GCEDC, previously known as GCIDA, is legally classified as an Industrial Development Agency (IDA) representing the economic development interests of Genesee County. Formed in 1970, the GCEDC is a Public Benefit Corporation established under New York's General Municipal Law. GCEDC is a separate, autonomous organization not part of the Genesee County Government. Our board consists of seven local experienced business persons who volunteer their services for the economic benefit of our community.
- From 2005-2009 the GCEDC has participated in 162 projects, enabling $427.5M of capital investment while creating 1,467 jobs.
- For five consecutive years (2004-2008), the Batavia Micropolitan area has been one of the Top 10 fastest growing Micropolitans as determined by Site Selection Magazine.

The Genesee Gateway Local Development Corporation (GGLDC) is a Federal and New York approved public charitable 501-c3 not-for-profit private Corporation that focuses on real estate development, building re-development, emerging market opportunities as well as central business district / retail initiatives in order to enhance the economic base, tax base and jobs base for the residents of our community.
Formed in 2004, the GGLDC is the affiliate entity of the Genesee County Economic Development Center operationally controlled by the GCEDC.
Recognized by the International Economic Development Council as having the best overall incentive attraction package.
