Genesee Valley Pre-Apprenticeship Bootcamp

"Earn as You Learn" with this six-week advanced manufacturing training program.
Participants receive paid on-the-job training through registered apprenticeship opportunities at Genesee County employers, and graduate with no debt!
2022 Program
  • Timeline: July 11 to August 25, 2022
  • Location: Batavia Career & Technical Education Center, 8250 State Street Road, Batavia, NY, 14020
  • Eligibility: Participants must be 18-24 years old at start of program (July 11, 2022)
  • Capacity: Up to 15 students for 2022 program

Cornell in High School Dairy Processing Boot Camp

Our newest workforce training program is launching immediately after the 2022-23 school year to give graduating seniors a fast track to careers in Genesee County's major dairy processing employers.
Led by Cornell University's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, students will graduate this fun and informative accelerated training program with a Cornell Dairy Processing Certificate.
This program is a fast track to the rewarding debt-free careers available at the employers in our Genesee Valley Agribusiness Park and Buffalo East Tech Park.
2022 Program
  • Timeline: June 28 to June 30, 2022
  • Location: Batavia Career & Technical Education Center, 8250 State Street Road, Batavia, NY, 14020
  • Eligibility: Students graduating in 2022-23 from any high school in the Genesee Valley BOCES network
  • Capacity: 40 students

Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program

31 students at the Genesee Valley BOCES electro-mechanical (mechatronics) program are currently participating in the Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program with Genesee County and regional businesses, including Bonduelle, Oxbo, Tambe Electric and Turnbull HVAC.
Following a mid-school year matching day, students in 11th grade join employers for job-shadows, and students in 12th grade join employers for paid internships.

GLOW With Your Hands

GLOW With Your Hands is the largest hands-on career exploration event for GLOW Region students.
Participants experience dozens of high-growth and high-demand careers in advanced manufacturing, agriculture, food processing, and the skilled trades at this celebration and an on-demand virtual career exploration platform.
Employers are encouraged to join this year's program, which will be the largest in GLOW With Your Hands history!
2022 Program
  • Timeline: Sept. 27, 2022
  • Location: Genesee County Fairgrounds, 5056 East Main Street Road, Batavia, NY, 14020
  • Eligibility: Open to students entering 8th to 12th grade in the 2022-23 school year from all public and private middle schools and high schools, and in home school programs in Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, Wyoming counties.
  • Capacity: 1,200 students

Customized and Scalable Training

Genesee County's employers access customized, scalable training to up-skill, re-skill and on-board their teams with modern training equipment and programs that can be offered on-site and off-site through the Batavia Career & Technical Education Center, Genesee Community College, and The BEST Center.
