ESD Finger Lakes Regional Director to Keynote 2023 Annual Meeting

BATAVIA, NY – The Genesee County Economic Development Center (GCEDC) announced today that Laura Fox O'Sullivan, Regional Director of Empire State Development’s Finger Lakes Regional Office, will be the keynote at the economic development agency’s annual event on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Batavia Downs. Fox O’Sullivan also serves as Executive Director of The Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council.

“Laura has been a tremendous advocate for economic development across the Finger Lakes region as a result of career experience,” said Steve Hyde, president, and CEO of the GCEDC. “We look forward to hearing from her particularly as it pertains to the Governor Hochul’s efforts to bring more resources to develop sites across upstate, including STAMP to bring semi-conductor and other related businesses to our region.”

Prior to joining Empire State Development, Fox O’Sullivan served as the President of the Finger Lakes region's first food business incubator – The Commissary – and as Vice President of the Rochester Downtown Development Corporation.

A native Rochesterian, O’Sullivan Fox earned a Bachelor’s degree in History of Art and Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s in Urban & Environmental Planning & Policy from Tufts University.

The Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council (FLREDC) is the strategic economic advisory board for the greater Rochester, New York region that includes the counties of Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Orleans, Ontario, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming and Yates.
