John Kennedy elementary students learned about the Life Sciences at the first ever Bio-Tech Science Fair held this week. The event was organized in part by Batavia High School science teachers Burt Howell, John Kirkwood and Nate Korzelius. Funding for this event was provided through the College Tech Prep grant at Genesee Community College. Advanced Placement, or AP, science students from Batavia conducted hands on experiments with the elementary students covering topics like memory, saliva and DNA. "All the students, both older and younger, really enjoyed the day and learned a ton too. As one elementary student I spoke with said; this was the best day of the year, even better than the zoo!"
