
Since 2003 the GCEDC has consistently received national acclaim for strong performance helping Genesee County and the Batavia Micropolitan area achieve Top 10 Micropolitan status in the nation for economic development activity for the last 6 years in a row as measured by Site Selection Magazine. Over the last 5 years, GCEDC has participated in 154 projects, securing $409M in investment while enabling commitments to create 1,362 new jobs throughout the county.
Significant non-local funding (Grants et. al.) have been secured by the GCEDC team to develop high potential, long term economy building shovel-ready sites, to position our community and region for serious economic growth over the long term. This is an essential strategic investment model critically necessary for a rural community to be able to compete globally, nationally and regionally for significant company attraction projects that drive significant private investment, build the long term tax base, and create high paying jobs for of our community and region.
